Adik's Engagement : Part 4

The rombongan lelaki (Fahim's entourage which consisted of his family members) was supposed to arrive after maghrib. So, before they came, our closest friends and family members gathered. The MC was Ustaz Fauzi and our spokesperson was Dato' Hashim Yahya (ex-mufti of KL).

They came just before isya'. Then the ceremony begins. The purpose of this ceremony was just to formalise the 'agreement' that Adik and Fahim were engaged to be married. Ustaz Fauzi cracked a few jokes and made everybody laughed. Who laughed the loudest?!! Of, course it was me! hehehe, it was spontaneous! I totally forgot that I was in the company of ustaz-ustaz and pak-pak haji...hehehe

The ceremony was short and sweet. It was followed by doa and also a short tahlil. After that, Adik came out for the sarung cincin. This is a where the mother-in-law-to-be put on the ring on the future daughter-in-law's ring finger...hehehe

Then, everyone enjoyed their refrehments (more like dinner because it was nasi beriyani). Anyway, while the guests were enjoying the food, we took some photos.

As usual, I was the 'tukang kepoh'...hehehe. Fahim was normally my 'target' a.k.a victim... Pity?! Nope, not at all! Hehehe, Adik's name is Fatiha so it kinda rhymes: Fatiha and Fahim...hehehe. Anyway, when everybody left around 10.30, we had our dinner. While clearing up, we had fun chatting with Mak Ngah and Mak Anjang. 

Sri's birthday was on the 2nd of January. So, we grabbed one of the many cakes given by the guests as her birthday cake...hehehe. Around midnight, we celebrated her birthday. It was fun.

We were supposed to make our way to Rawang but as usual being in the midst of close family we kinda took our sweet time...hehehe...until Daddy scolded us and herd us out of the house... Mummy was kinda emotional but we were kinda okay. It was raining heavily outside and we were caught in a flash flood. We couldn't get to the plus highway and it was quite a terrifying experience because we could feel the car moving with the rush of flood water. We were lucky because the engine didn't stall if not we would have been carried with the strong current. 

Anyway, we arrived safely in our own house nearly 1 a.m. Tired but satisfied. The kids were happy because they enjoyed seeing the torrential downpour which me missed while we're in Sudan...hehehe. So, now, we're waiting for Adik's big day which will be on the 12th of June, insyaallah.

So, Adik and Fahim, "Selamat Bertunang". Even though this post was 4 months late! Well, better late than never, huh?!!
