This morning we were woken up with the sound of rain. Again! No wonder it was so difficult to get out of bed?!! Hehehe... We woke up quite late because it was already 7.30 am. We rushed to get the kids ready for school. Kak long was so looking forward to wearing her new uniform to school (it's pink...hehehe).
The rain must have started after 6 because by the time we finished sahur and prayed subuh, there was still no rain. It was quite heavy and it lasted quite awhile. Even now at 12 pm, it's still drizzling.
Anyway, just before 8 am, I received a call from my husband that school's cancelled today due to the rain. The school's flooded. So, I quickly called the other mothers and let them know. It seems that Avinash Academy was not the only school affected by the rain, Oxford's also cancelled. The parents were asked to come and get their children around 9.30 am. At least we're lucky in the sense that we knew before school started. Alhamdulillah.
I'm sure many places around Khartoum are flooded. It's because the grounds are so hard and dry and they've lost the ability to absorb the water. It's like flash flood in KL. We're lucky to see a lot of rain water this year. Alhamdulillah...
It's raining quite heavily...
