Craving for J.Co...

Today I thought would be my first day staying in at the house, without going anywhere. Or so, I thought...hehehe

The kids were playing in a 'clean' house for once...because I asked someone to clean my house yesterday. Even Ema (my neighbour) said that my house is 'liveable' again! hehehe. After eating brunch, the kids were playing with kak long's 'bakery shop'. Amir gave me a play 'doughnut' and that started me thinking about those lovely doughnuts from J.Co...sigh...

so, I think my resolution to stay in today will remain as a resolution only. I am going to Giant in Kota Damansara to buy doughnuts! Yeay! Enjoy the old pictures!

Task 6 : Brape dik?!!

Today, Sri and I went to Ariani's in Kota Damansara to find a suitable tudung for us. I've never been to an Ariani boutique before, ever! The last time I was in a muslimah boutique was in Sri Munawarah, way back in 2003, for Sri's wedding.

So, we went in with our sample baju, hoping to find a matching tudung. I instantly saw a beautiful pink tudung and when I was busy admiring the tudung, one of the salesgirl came over. She said, "Murah je kak, ada diskaun lagi". Wow, I thought, this must be my lucky day, with a discount some more.

So I asked, "Brape ni dik?". She answered. "5 5 0 aje". And I was struck dumb...I asked again." Brape dik?!!" and to that she answered "RM 550.00". Huh?!! Am I crazy to pay that much amount of money for a tudung that I'll probably wear only once!!! Buying a RM 30+ tudung is already considered quite extravagant for me, how am I going to pay RM550?!!

But I did ask, just in case, "Brape discount?" which she replied, "10%, selalu takde discount macam ni..." Huh?!! I thought 70% discount like in Jusco or Sogo Sale! Hehehe. I had to laugh out loud in the store itself! What else can I do other than crack jokes...hehehe. I asked them what am I going to do with a 550 worth of tudung? Frame them?!! Hehehe. And as usual when I'm being cornered with 2 or 3 salesgirls around me, I laughed like a hyena in there, hehehe...

Sri tried to buy a green tudung for RM100+, plain green, the girls pushed another green tudung, of course it was better because it was more expensive! If I'm not mistaken, nearly RM300. I think the only person who could afford going to that place are people like Ekin (wife of Mawi) because it's sponsored and those really, really rich that they do not know what to do with their money. By the way, Ekin's the model for Ariani, anyway!

The girls were impressed with our dresses actually...hehehe. So I asked them to get my tailor's number, just in case. And to get away, I told them that I'll be bringing the bride (Adik) to their shop for a tudung, then we'll decide whether we'll buy their tudung or not...hehehe. A total lie, of course! But I was really glad to get away from the shop.

Seriously, I wouldn't blink an eye if I was using that amount of money to buy food or books, but for a tudung? For me, a tudung should do their job by covering every single hair on our head not like what our Dato' Siti's wearing or even like what the UMNO ladies are so fond of wearing. That's just making it as an accessory. And being me, I would just chuck it anywhere as soon as I get in the house, much to my husband and MIL's consternation...hehehe. And preferably in a material that would require no-ironing time...hehehe

After that, we went to my tailor's to do a 're-fitting' of all our dresses. When I told her about the shop, Zie showed us an alternative. It was simple, wrinkle-free material and she would sew beads on it for us. Yes! Yes! Yes! And it'll cost only a fraction of the ones sold in Ariani. Zie would even find a matching colour for us, yeay! Sri and I came out looking very pleased with ourselves. Hehehe. Then, we had lunch in Dahlia, near MPM because we were very, very hungry! End of the adventure for today...

Task 5 : Dresses for the girls...

Today, I went to get the dresses for the girls, yippee! We made them way back in December, even before the engagement...hehehe

As soon as I arrived in Taman Tun, we forced the girls to try their dresses. I was so afraid that the dresses would be too small. But the funny thing was the dresses were all too big for us! Sigh... So, tomorrow we have to go to the tailor's again. Luckily, they were too big, if it's too small, then we'll have a bigger problem.

But the boys' baju melayu were perfect! Except for Amir's, of course. They do look cute in their respective baju melayu...hehehe

Task 4 : Baju Melayu and Sampin for the boys...

On Tuesday, the 26th of May, we went to KL to pick up the boys baju melayu and buy a suitable sampin and songkok for them too. 

Again, Amir threw up on the way there. So, I had to change him into Hadi's spare clothes...hehehe. We walked to Wisma Yakin and picked up their baju melayu. I was a bit disappointed because they used different shades for Amir's baju melayu (not enough clothe) but they should have used the same material just for Amir...sigh. Luckily I had back-up plan. 

After that, the race for their sampin began. We went to several shops before I discovered a suitable songkok for the boys. I also liked the sampin there, but they had only two pieces of the same material. I had to wait for the girl to try and find one more in their store room. The kids were getting restless because they're hungry and tired. Luckily, they got another piece (which could be worn with both their baju melayu (the blue and pink), alhamdulillah.

After that, I bought ben 10 t-shirts for the boys and then walked to the nearest fast food outlet, an A&W at Jalan TAR. They gobbled up the food within minutes...hehehe. I was really thirsty and the float was delicious...hehehe. Then, we went home, happy... Enjoy the pictures!

Task 3 : Buying shoes...

On Monday the 25th of May, we went to Bangsar to make our shoes for the wedding. By we, I mean Aliah and me...hehehe

We tried finding our shoes in other stores but our feet were too big! Sob, sob... Aliah can't wear kids shoes anymore, she has to wear adult size. So, I decided to make the same shoes for her and me. We used Sri's shoes as the sample but ours were not really high heeled. Ours were only 1 1/2 inch high. It would be suitable for us to walk around, insyaallah.

On that day, the lady had to take our feet measurement...hehehe. Kinda funny coz that was the first time I measured my own foot...hehehe. Hopefully, it'll fit. The boys were having too much fun in the shop, I was afraid that the lady would scream. I would, if I were her...hehehe. They wrestled, rolled and ran around and played with the display...sigh. I was glad to finally get out of the shop...sigh

Since my husband's coming back this week, I think I'd better come clean...

Last tuesday, when I was sending all the clothes to the dobi, I realised something wrong with the car. The black panel on the left hand side was gone! Haiyo, I panicked a little bit but was ever ready to 'accept fate'...hehehe

When I went back home, I was glad to see that the black panel actually came off on the porch! Luckily, it fell off at home, we could probably ask the mechanic to put it on again. How did it happen and who did it?!! My guess would be that the kids opened the door roughly and it got caught to one of the pillars...sigh

So, dear husband. Sorry again...
