When I arrived at Kak Normah's house on that Saturday afternoon, the rain had stopped but I seemed to be mixing up the dates, again! The kenduri was supposed to be after zohor on Sunday...sigh...
The men were busy putting up the tent from surau. Since Kak Normah catered the food for the kenduri, we had nothing much to do. Kak Arah's busy making her infamous karipap and she asked me to help with the 'kelim' of the karipap. Seriously, I truly did not know how to. She insisted that I at least practised on one small dough, which I did. But until the end, until the dough turned colour, I still could not master the art of 'karipap-klimming'...hehehe
Before maghrib, I went home with the boys, leaving kak long to spend the night with Kak Hani. Hadi was especially distraught throughout the journey. When I tried calming him down by telling him that, 'he still have me and Amir', he replied that, ' I want kak long, she's my favourite!'. When I offered to buy him slurpy, he said, ' No, I don't want slurpy... I just want kak long!'... Isk, I pity him but kak long also wanted to spend the night with her Kak Hani...hmmm... luckily by the time I let him chose his slurpy and basically anything he wanted from the 7-eleven, he calmed down enough...sigh... I had to resort to bribing in the end...sigh...
