Task 2: Food tasting...

On the 5th of May, we had to join our in-laws for the food tasting session. We looked forward to the session because it's basically 'free' dinner! Hehehe...

When we arrived, I was satisfied that there were plenty of signage to signal which room we're supposed to be in. There were 10 adults and 6 children altogether. Since the table could only accommodate 10 people, we had to squeeze a little bit. Not our fault because Kim (the contact person) said that we could bring the kids.

As soon as we settled in, I looked at the menu and it looked promising...hehehe. We were hungry, okay?!! And soon after we were given the starter. At first I was busy snapping pictures but when they started serving the food, I totally forgot about anything else...hehehe. Well, it was a food tasting session... I didn't just 'taste' the food, I truly 'melantak'! Hehehe...

My husband helped feeding Amir while I fed Hadi. What did I remember about the food? Well, the 'nasi' was really nice (I couldn't remember how many times I asked for more...hehehe).  The presentation was very good and some of the food were very tasty. But a couple of dishes were a bit sweet for our taste. My MIL was quite satisfied with the food because obviously the Kelantanese like sweet dishes. But the general public, a.k.a 'me' need a little 'kick' out of the dishes. So we asked the chef to spice it up.

Oh yes, we met the chef after the meal and she was very humble and nice. Her husband's also a chef (specializes in western dishes) and she specializes in Malay dishes. Wow, I would like to be in their house...hehehe. She told us that her kids could request what kind of dishes they like to eat. Though, she said, at home, they would cook 'kampung style'...Hmmm, surely delicious!

Anyway, I had to do a little bit of writing up about the individual dishes...hehehe. Of course, when I'm given the golden opportunity to write what I like, I did just that! Write what I like! We finished by 10.30 p.m and we went home with 3 'satisfied' kids. We had to make our way fast because Amir and Hadi started to make their own 'entertainment'...sigh... All in all, it was a good food tasting session... Alhamdulillah.
