At first, we thought we didn't have enough budget for the block A kenduri but we kept on receiving money up until the kenduri and we ended up with a lot of leftover, more than sdg 500 in fact. So, I suggested we made bubur kacang for moreh during Ramadhan and the block a residents agreed.
We finally did it on the 30th of August and Hj. Yaacob pointed out that it was an apt date because it was the eve of Merdeka...hehehe. We cooked the bubur kacang infront of Kak Jas's house, only the ladies helped out. We started after asar and by the time the bubur was cooked, it was nearly maghrib.
Our bubur was not a strictly bubur kacang, we also put keledek and tepung pulut (made into small and colourful round bits). I also suggested to the ladies to have some sort of a party after terawih...hehehe. Well, we kept on cooking, we just need some time to enjoy ourselves.
So, around 10.30 pm, we met downstairs at AG08 and had a party. We had cucur udang, bubur kacang, rojak and even cendul and teh tarik...hehehe. It was a bit crowded because the room was a bit small but we had fun just chatting among ourselves. Those who didn't help in making the bubur helped cleaning up, so it was kinda fair for everyone...hehehe. We finished cleaning up around 11.20 pm... and that's how we spent the eve of Merdeka 2009.
