Fifth Day of Eid

The fifth day of Eid was full of 'eating' events. Breakfast was provided by En. Mazman and Kak Rehana. The spread included roti puri, roti bombay, roti canai and mee jawa... really delicious... heheh... We kept on replenishing our plates... we were also entertained by a slide show of previous gatherings by Aiman.

At 2.30 pm, we went to Tutti Fruiti (an ice-cream parlour) in Khartoum. The kids were excited because for the whole of Ramadhan, they didn't get the chance to eat ice-cream... after that, we went to the Ozone to buy bread as school is about to start again on monday.

When we arrived at the complex, we went straight to Kak Jannah's house on the fifth floor. We had nasi minyak, lupis and a variety of kek lapis...yummy... Unfortunately, my camera was out of battery, so I couldn't take pictures...sigh...

From 7 to 10 pm, Block B invited the residents of Block A for a 'picnic-style' open house. It was held at Laman Mesra. When we arrived, there were so many people sitting on mats and I could see that they're also playing P.Ramlee movies. There was a lot of stalls (makanan kampung, BBQ style, western, soup, fried mee and kue tiow etc...). The kids had fun running around on the field and the ladies were sitting prettily on mats...There was a karaoke competition too!

The atmosphere reminded me of those days when they had the mobile movie projection at kampungs. For the younger generation maybe it was a novelty but for older folks it brought some nostalgic memories...hehehe... The only thing I didn't like was the lack of lighting, it was very difficult to see what's on your plate... hehehe...

The ladies trying to hear some karaoke songs being performed...

Students and a few gentlemen watching Pendekar Bujang Lapok...

Block A residents enjoying the food...

Block B ladies looked tired after a whole day of preparing for the gathering

People with better cameras could get better pictures, like Mr. Ezalman here...

Next friday would be our turn to host the 'open house' for our block... Hopefully it'll be as successful as last night... Today, we're back to the normal mode... husbands go to work, kids go to school, ladies busy with housework... no more eating at other people's houses... I have to start cooking again, after a week of 'happiness' (aka not cooking!)...sigh...
