Petronita Outreach Programme : Part 2

It took quite awhile to reach our destination. We had to go on a dirt road and had a 'camel-trophy' kind of ride. When we reached the place, we were quite surprised because it looked deserted and in the middle of nowhere. But soon, we could see a lot of villagers came running towards us. That kinda made me a little bit worried.

Worried for our safety and also worried about whether the things that we brought were enough or not. Mr Ibrahim talked to some of them saying that we're just coming for a little visit and do not expect too much. Most were ladies with little kids and a few men. At first, they were quite orderly when we asked them to line up.

But soon, more people came and the crowd was worried of their share and then they started to push and tried to grab things in the van. I pulled Amir out of the way because he might me trampled. I know I sounded a little bit dramatic but when people are desperate, they kind of lose themselves...sigh.

Anyway, Kak Adik and me watched from the sidelines while the our van drivers with the help of the few men distributed the goods. When we saw that even more people came, we told them that those who did not receive food, would get clothes. Some got food, some got clothes and those who were lucky got both. Within half an hour everything was distributed. Just look at the pictures...

When we first arrived...

Mr Ibrahim with a tie...

The men in yellow was wearing torn shirt, slippers that did not match...kesian...

Our little group...

Mdm Salma in white...

The line got longer...

They're waiting for us to open the van...

Did you see the empty boxes being discarded?!!

They're still waiting for more...

We're just observing from afar...

Dear Ina, this is really good. I am really proud to see action and not just talk. I must add though that in a way you all were quite "berani". Anyway alhamdulillah everything turned out well but was the barang enough?
