Bazaar santai...

On Friday the 14th of August, Petronita presented their first Bazaar Santai for 2009/2010 session. Everyone was looking forward to the event. Many people even came much earlier than the starting time, which was at 9.30 am. By 9.00 there were many customers already waiting at the cafe.

There was a good selection of food available. The kueh section was full to the brim with many kueh like karipap, doughnuts, kuih bakar etc. The 'heavy' section had soto, nasi lemak, nasi kerabu, mee bandung etc.

It was a bit hectic in the beginning maybe because it was their first time, when the customers were kept waiting while the sellers were still trying to set up. Otherwise it was a successful bazaar. It was the time that at least for a day, we could hang up our pots and pans, even for a meal...hehehe. Enjoy the pictures!

saya tgk dlm tv ada wartawan wanita kena penjara kat khartoum sebab pakai seluar, kenapa boleh jadi mcm tu kat sudan?mmg kerajaan sudan extreme ke sampai pakai seluar pun tak boleh.apa2 larangan2 lain kat sudan , maybe you can elaborate as it is quite interesting to know the goverment perception in this kind of things

Dear xplorer,

That case was blown out of proportion by the western media. The lady works with the Un if I'm not mistaken. I think she just wanted to rebel and goaded the authorities to take action.
Kitorang selamba je pakai seluar, orang2 sudan pun ada gak yang pakai seluar. biasa aje...

As I told you before, there's a restriction in taking pictures in the public/ of the public. Kang kena 'dubb' a spy la pulak...hehehe. Otherwise seronok je dok Sudan ni. In fact, rasa lagi selamat drpd mesia.

Yea, betul kata Ina. Media barat selalu memberi gambaran negatif terhadap negara2 Arab. Ni kes, media amik cerita sekerat jalan jer. Mesti ada sebab lain yg menyebabkan wanita tu dipenjara.

Masa I kat Abu Dhabi dan Qatar, I aktif juga dalam forum Virtual Tourist. Orang putih yg nak kena transfer ke sana tanya soalan macam2... kena pakai jilbab ker, boleh pakai seluar ker etc. Kelakar juga bila baca. Bila die org dah sampai, feed back die orang.."Waw, I never know that Abu Dhabi is so modern..."

Terfikir juga masa tu kenapa mind setting die org cam tu. Sebab media laa.
