Egypt : MSD...

By the time we came out of the Kubu Salahuddin Al-Ayyubi, it was asar. Everyone was terribly hungry. We didn't even stop for lunch and the kids had been munching on crisps and chocolates. They started getting cranky...sigh

So, at first we stopped at a Siamese Restaurant but the place was too small to accommodate us all. After that, Afzan brought us to the Malaysian Embassy in Cairo where there was a malay restaurant. But it was definitely not our lucky day. We met Kak Aishah and her family there who told us that there was no lauk left...sigh. So, we decided to pray in the surau while the kids play outside.

When we got back to the van, Kak Faridah and me saw an interesting shop across the street from MSD. At first, I didn't want to go in because we were short of cash...but my husband gave me the green light to have a look. Of course, I jumped at the idea. So, I followed Kak Faridah inside. The shop was selling bed sheet and towels etc which was made from Egyptian cotton.

Wow! It was so soft and the most important thing it was cheap. A queen size fitted bed sheet was sold at LE40, which was only about RM25. It was really cheap! The pillow cases was only LE4.20 each, which was about RM2.60 only! I just bought 3 colours, pink, beige and blue. That was the only money I had on me. If I had more I would have bought a whole set of burgundy bed sheet which looked very classy...sigh. Well, I guess that was the only rezeki I had :)

Michieko was sleeping...

Dewan Malaysia Kaherah...

They were so noisy...sigh

After that impromptu shopping trip, we asked Afzan to stop at any fast food restaurant because we were famished to say the least. When the mini van stopped at a KFC restaurant, we were so happy. But, the service was so poor that the word fast food restaurant should not be applied to the place. Can you imagine, we of course ordered a lot of food but instead of serving us, they were serving customers who came later than us?!!

But when the food came, we sat there quietly eating. Alhamdulillah...

While waiting for the van...

Amir had to be 'captured'...hehehe
