A trip to Cameron Highlands : Day 2

Around 10 a.m, we checked out of the hotel and we went to the market near Rajoo's strawberry farm to buy flowers. Since it was before the school holidays, we got quite a good bargain. 100 stalks of roses only for rm20. Very cheap, huh?!! After that I had to buy fresh vegetables because it was so cheap, 15 for rm10, any variety. The asparagus was only 3 for rm10 etc.  Even though I do not cook but I wanted to give them to my neighbours in Sri Rawang and Tasik Puteri...hehehe

After that we went to a malay strawberry farm. For your information, there were several malay strawberry farm behind the golf course in Tanah Rata. But they did not have any strawberry left to be picked. Instead, we had icecream, I bought 2 pots of chrysanthemum flowers and fridge magnets.

Then, we went back to Brinchang to pick strawberries. The kids were so excited. But the place was very steep and quite far because we had to go to the other side of a stream to get there. I was a bit afraid for the kids safety but nothing untoward happened. They enjoyed themselves but there were not many strawberries and I just paid for only half a kilo of strawberries which cost rm20. I just wanted the kids to experience strawberry picking, that's all because I know that they're not that sweet.

We're not supposed to eat any fruit inside because there's always bangla workers around. In the UK, we could eat all we want inside the farm and only pay what we bring outside (in punnets, if I remember correctly). As students, my friends and I used to eat big, succulent strawberries until we could not eat anymore...hehehe. Even in Sudan, the fruits are bigger and sweeter, must have something to do with the climate, huh?!! But actually, Amir did eat all he want in the farm...hehehe

After that we drove back through Tapah. Alhamdulillah, we arrived safely in Rawang around 4 p.m. Although Amir and Hadi threw up along the journey...hehehe. We also managed to buy a lot of petai from one orang asli stall along the way. It was really cheap! Enjoy the pictures!

Dear klcitizen,

the girl who sold me the roses said that to keep the flowers longer, we have to put a spoon of sugar in the water... Tahan la gak 4,5 hari...

Dear lina,

The name of the farm is KHM, there's a malay reserve land kat belakang golf course kat tanah rata tu...tak ramai yang tahu ada melayu punya strawberry farm kat situ.
